Your growing
Kindergartener
(3 - 5 years old)
Nurturing and supporting your Kindergartener’s growth from the very first day.
You’ll forever remember your child’s first day at school. And you want your child to be ready for the move from preschool or kindergarten to school and beyond. Our program is guided by the early years learning and development framework, designed to support three to five-year-old children in becoming capable, independent learners while building their confidence. This framework focuses on developing strong social and emotional foundations, preparing your child for a successful transition to school and all the adventures that lie ahead.
A two-year program: lifelong success.
Our program is guided by the Early Years Learning and Development Framework (EYLF) and aims to:
Instill a lifelong love of learning;
Foster a greater intensity of engagement, developing children’s concentration and focus through group and individual experiences;
Provide opportunities to practice and refine self-regulation through positive guidance and language;
develop greater social connections within the centre and greater communities including regular events and incursions;
Facilitate opportunities to develop deeper level of learning and understanding through revisiting experiences over time and engaging with open ended materials; and
tailor the educational program to suit each child’s individual needs and support children’s interests in literacy and learning through exposure to examples of writing, reading, print materials and small group conversations.
Our kindergarten programs help kids explore
and grow to prepare them for life.

Kindergarten Program FAQ’s
Why Choose SHBELC over sessional Kindergarten?
Within the Toddlers program area children aged 15 months – 24 months engage in a play-based learning program that is tailored to their strengths, interests and needs. To reflect their developmental needs and abilities children are provided with multiple opportunities participate in small group experiences and one on one interactions with their Educators. The Educators support children to further strengthen their independence through encouraging them to self-select learning experiences, assist with meal service and self-care routines.

A smooth transition through kindergarten and preschool and beyond.

Meet Alicia, she looks after all things Education
I’ve always had a passion for kindergarten education that runs deep in my heart, like the roots of a magnificent gum tree. Watching the little ones discover the world around them, sparking their curiosity and creativity, brings me pure joy each day. I believe in creating a warm and nurturing environment where every child feels valued and included, and my experienced team and I are dedicated to providing enriching experiences that ignite a lifelong love of learning. Each giggle, each curious question they ask, reminds me why I love what I do – helping young minds flourish right here in our wonderful Surrey Hills community!
